Hayom Yom, “From Day to Day,” is an anthology of sayings and customs, arranged according to the days of the year, assembled from the talks and letters of the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson. Hayom Yom was compiled and arranged by the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach.

In a letter, the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe describes the Hayom Yom as “a book which is small in format but packed with pearls and diamonds of the choicest quality.” The intention of this project is to present these “pearls and diamonds” in a format appropriate for children. Depending on the day's content, the Hayom Yoms are introduced with stories, meshalim or examples that help bring the lessons of Hayom Yom to life.  In some cases the Hayom Yom was condensed or abbreviated, but with an effort to keep the meaning of the Hayom Yom intact.

This book does not represent to be a translation or exact rendition of the full meaning and depth of the Hayom Yom.  While effort was made to retain as much of the original flavor of the Hayom Yom as possible, it is an adaptation and the interpretations presented are solely the responsibility of the writer.
